Rules

1) GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Place :
    • Complexe sportif – Rue de la gite,  85470 Bretignolles sur Mer (FRANCE)
  • Minimum age of participation: 18 years
  • Protections: groin,(cups for women)
  • After the first round bandages are alowed
  • Men elite category :
    • – 65 kg
    • – 75 kg
    • – 85 kg
    • + 85 kg.
  • Women elite category :
    • – 60 kg
    • + 60 kg.
  • Veterans elite category (+40 ans) :
    • Open weight
  • Women elite category :
    • – 60 kg
    • + 60 kg

2) DIMENSIONS OF THE FIGHT AREA

  • The fight area is a tatami of 8 meters on 8 meters

3) ARBITRATION

  • The arbitration consists of 4 corner referees and a central referee

4) DURATION OF THE FIGHTS

  • 1st round: 3 minutes
    • If there is a draw (HIKIWAKE) there will be a second round of 2 minutes.
  • 2nd round: 2 minutes
    • If there is a second draw (HIKIWAKE), there will be a weight test.
    • If there is a difference of 5kg or more, the lighter fighter wins.
    • If there is not enough difference of weight there will be one last round of 3 minutes
  • 3rd round: 3 minutes
    • After what the juges have to take a decision.

5) ALLOWED TECHNIQUES

  • Kicks the head, the body and legs.
  • Knees to the head,the body and legs.
  • Clinching.
  • Punches and trikes to the body and th e legs with fist, elbow and open hand
  • Grabbing the opponent’s dogi with one hand during 3 seconds
  • Sweeping and throwing

6) FORBIDDEN TECHNIQUES

  • Punching to the head with fist, open hand or any part of the arm headbutting.
  • Kicks to the groin.
  • Punching or kicking in the back of the opponent.
  • Strike the opponent when he’s laying down pushing the opponent repetingly walk out of the fighting area behaving unsportly

7) OFFICIAL WARNINGS

  • 1st warning: (chui ichi)
  • 2nd warning: (chui ni genten ichi)
  • 3rd warning: (genten ichi chui ichi)
  • 4th warning: (genten ni ,shikaku) disqualification)

8)POINT SYSTEM

A fighter wins by knock out, knock down or on points

A) Half point (waza ari)

  • When the opponent goes down for less than 5 seconds

B) Full point (ippon)

  • When the opponent goes down for more than 5 seconds two half points(waza ari) becomes full point(ippon)

C) Win by decision

  • Supported by 3 of the 5 referees.
